My Spring/Summer project is making over my apartment… I’ve been reading a lot of Apartment Therapy and their books for inspiration. Also my decluttering books…

I’ve gotten rid of a lot of things I was holding on to like school notes, old letters from friends, etc.

The first room I’m working on is the living room… here are a few before pictures:

My Living Room After That – Took A Turn For The Worse

I don’t have a current picture of my living room but it looks close to the same – minus the futon add a treadmill. I’m in the process of purging it of all unwanted/needed things.

It’s taking me longer then I thought it would to purge the living room… once I’m dong with that I’ll post a new before picture.

Pretty much everything in here right now (furniture) is going to go… I don’t have much so it’s not a big deal. To replace it so far I’ve brought:

Klippan Love Seat

Poang Chair

Both the love seat and chair are from Ikea… and while thrifting I picked this up…

It needs a little work… to be sanded and restained… but for $6.00 totally worth it. That same day, different thrift store I found a headboard… exactly what I was looking for, for my bedroom…

$20.00! Totally worth it… I put it behind my super high futon and it worked perfectly… LOVE. Needs a little touching up, but that’s about it.

I’m not going to worry about the bedroom for now… my main focus is the living room. Once I’m done with the living room my room is next…

Updated pictures to come soon… maybe tomorrow…

I know I haven’t posted in like FOREVER… Vi started and high school and it’s been crazy around here…. no time for craftiness or creativity… I’ve just been trying to keep up with life. Along with hectic schedules come messes and clutter… very overwhelming.

About a month ago I was watching Oprah and seen Terry Walsh on the show going around the country helping people declutter their homes. I decided to check out his book “It’s all too much”…

This book is the Bomb! I just got it yesterday and I’ve ready almost a 1/4 of the book. I agree with everything it says and I can’t wait to start decluttering my home so my life will declutter also and I can get back to some craftiness.

Project Spring Clean Starts today… get ready for some before and after shots!

I never paint dreams or nightmares. I paint my own reality. – Frida Kahlo

I told you I have tons to post about. In September a friend and I went to the SFMOMA to see Frida’s Exhibit… her work is amazing, but in person it was magical. I can’t describe the feelings and emotions that came over me. You could feel her saddness through her art. They didn’t allow pictures, but I was able to sneak one. It was my first time visiting SFMOMA… the lady who was letting people into the exhibit was extremely rude, but Frida made up for it.

I wish I were able to snap more or at least a better picture.

It’s been a long time since I last posted. Last semester kicked my butt… I’m finally done with it, I did pretty good… got a B in my class. Unfortunately this semester I have to take off due to not being very organized. I decided to use this time to get my organized, and spend some time focusing on Vi, since it’s her first year of high school.

I have tons to update about and lots of pictures to share. I’ve gone a lot of Corelle to photograph and post also – my sister’s been adding to my collection. My new years resolution is finally to make some changes to my apartment – some new furniture… finally put up curtains in the kitchen, etc. First thing is first though – getting organized.

I’m starting in my kitchen, so I decided to post some pictures of kitchens that I find inspirational… (see above). I love bright colors in kitchens…

Well, expect to hear from me more often then every few months :)

Happy Day!

It’s been quite a while since I last posted here… time has just really flown by for me. I’ve been working full time, going to school, Vi started high school, and I’m on the weight loss wagon… it’s been crazy, but I’m back to updating here… I miss my crafty side.

Sorry…

I apologize for my lack of blogginess… my schedule has gotten crazy, but I do plan on getting back to blogging. School started last week… I haven’t been to school in over a year and a half, so it’s taking a tiny bit of getting use to. I’m also working full time now, which limits my free time… and now I can’t get my camera to recognize it has a memory card in it… I don’t think anything is wrong with it, I just have to read the manual.

I’ll be back soon with picture to share. I’m currently working on getting my mothers and my homes organized. I want to do some redecorating in mine… and well my mother, she just needs to get rid of stuff… expect to see some before and after photos soon.

PS I Love You

The weekend before this past one… Vi and I stayed home for a ‘girls weekend’ and spent a night watching movies… P.S. I Love You was GREAT! I don’t want to give any of the story away, but it’s such a beautiful movie… it had us crying through out the whole thing, sad moments, romantic moments, funny ones, sweet ones. This movie has it all. But I will admit I’m glad I didn’t see it at the movies, because I might of gotten kicked out for crying to loud. All actors were GREAT. Hiliary Swank is too cute… and Harry Connick Jr. is ALWAYS CALIENTE! We give it 5 stars!!!

We had such a great trip. We left Saturday evening about 5pm and drive to Angels Camp… which is a small little town with lots of gold mining history. Our original plan was to check into a hotel somewhere in that area and explore the town… but hotels were a bit pricey, and we’d need at least 2 rooms. The kids were also anxious to start camping, so we found a local campsite and set up there. $18.00 for a night, not to bad. It was pretty nice, a bit too commericalized with a lot of pavement but still nice. We were high in elevation so we could see the skies clearly. We all got to see at least one shooting star. Vi kept watching the sky and seen tons. It was beautiful and relaxing. I took the picture above our first morning… That’s Vi walking in the back ground, and Four playing with fire.

Sunday morning, we got up… packed up and after getting a jump on the truck battery, we headed over the Calavera Big Trees. Beautiful, beautiful place! Ross did such a great job finding it. We had originally planned a trip to Yosemite, but had to cancel due the fires.

We had a wonderful time at Big Trees. We made s’mores, went for a long hike and a bunch of little ones. We went fishing, played cards, slept outside in tents, dipped our feet in the creek… we had so much fun. We want to try it again before the weather changes… but this time make it an adults trip only… we think camping can be romantic…

You can tell from the picture above the skies were a bit gloomy that day… which set the mood for the kite festival. I’m not sure if it was our mood or if the kite festival was different this year… but it was actually a little lame. I’m still happy that we made it, and flew our kites and check out other’s kites… but it was just sort of sad and the skies appeared a bit empty… the food wasn’t even as good. I didn’t take very man photos because of the lighting, but I did take a few I posted over on flickr.

Hello…

It’s amazing how quickly three weeks has flown by. It seems like just yesterday I was saying bye for a few days. I have tons to chat about… camping was great, and since getting back I’ve been getting organized and ready for both Vi and I to return to school. It’s been a little crazy around here, with lots going on – but I promise not to ignore you anymore…
